A new campaign in Belgium is raising awareness about the difficulties people with psoriasis in their scalp can face when trying to get a haircut. At least, we think that is the topic of the campaign. The website is in French and Dutch, and the world headquarters of Psoriasis Cure Now is, sadly, monolingual…English.

Nevertheless, the Happy Hair site is worth a look, as there are some funny pictures and you can practice your language skills.

Certainly, we have heard the stories of unpleasant scenes when scalp psoriasis meets a stylist who is unfamiliar with it. As in most things, the best strategy may be to address it upfront, before you are in the chair, stressing the non-contagious nature of psoriasis. The most frequent downside of initiating such a conversation is that the stylist often will then try to sell you a product that can allegedly cure your psoriasis. But enduring a sales pitch is much more pleasant than a confrontation with a stylist who thinks your scalp is contagious.

[While we are in an international mood, might we suggest you check out the World Psoriasis Day Challenge?]
