If you have psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis, or care about someone who does, we need you involved in our nationwide campaign to increase research on psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis and to reduce the stigma associated with the disease. There are many ways to help -- some literally take just two minutes, others require more time. You can also contribute your money or your ideas. Simply put, we need your help, in whatever ways you can offer it. Below are important steps you can take to make an impact.
STEPS YOU CAN TAKE RIGHT NOW...
Step One
Write your Lawmakers and urge them to increase research on psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. We have made it incredibly simple to do! Just enter your zip code here:
Then add your name (and optional comments) to the attached letter, and our Action Alert system will automatically forward it to your lawmakers. Don’t delay—you’re two minutes away from making a real difference. Enter your zip and click GO now!
Step Two
Fill out our Psoriasis Volunteer questionnaire. This will allow us to know the types of volunteer activities you might be willing to participate in so we only contact you when it looks like a good fit.
Step Three
Make a tax deductible contribution to help us expand our work. We receive no government funding -- 100% of our budget comes from voluntary donations! (Contributions are tax deductible to the full extent of law.)
Step Four
Spread the word about Psoriasis Cure Now’s work. Ask your friends, family and colleagues to join you in taking these steps towards a cure. Use our Tell-A-Friend feature to alert others about this web site—or send a blast email to your email address book and include this web address with a message of your own. Step Six
Meet with your federal lawmakers in your home town. Simply send an email to hometownmeeting@psoriasis-cure-now.org , expressing your interest and telling us your zip code. We’ll help you arrange meetings with your lawmakers or their staffs, and we’ll provide you with a proposed meeting agenda, talking points, and hand-outs to distribute, individually crafted for the priorities and interests of your lawmakers! Email us today and don’t forget to include your zip code.
Step Seven
Do not come to Washington, DC for business or pleasure without setting aside three hours to meet with your lawmakers' Washington offices about psoriasis! Just let us know the dates you will be here, and we will work with you to schedule and conduct successful meetings. We will give you a proposed meeting agenda, talking points, and hand-outs to distribute, individually targeted to your lawmakers. We’ll even attend the meetings with you! Three hours (sometimes less) is all you need to set aside for this important work. Just email comingtodc@psoriasis-cure-now.org with your zip code and preferred meeting date(s). Make some history in this historic city!
Step Eight
Tell your dermatologist and/or rheumatologist about Psoriasis Cure Now and our grassroots movement to get Congress interested in psoriasis research. Print out our Physician Handout (Word format or PDF format) and take it to your next Doctor’s appointment. We do not have the financial resources to reach the tens of thousands of physicians who treat our patient community. But together, we can reach many of them. Please leave this form with the receptionist, or take it into your appointment and personally ask your Doctor to distribute it to his or her psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis patients. If all of our supporters’ doctors told all their patients about our campaign to reach Congress, the strength of our message would be magnified greatly!
Step Nine
Many of you and many of your friends have personal or business web sites. Please add a small Psoriasis Cure Now “button” or “web sticker” to your site and urge your friends to do the same. These web stickers allow visitors to go directly to our Congressional letter-writing page, creating even more of an outpouring of support for more psoriasis research. Just click on the button of your choice and it is easy to install on your web site.
By taking these steps, you will help move us closer to additional treatment options and a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Thank you.
