LeAnn Rimes has psoriasis
Singer songwriter LeAnn Rimes has disclosed that she has psoriasis. The 27 year-old entertainer is part of a new national awareness campaign funded by the pharmaceutical company Abbott, and run by the American Academy of Dermatology and the National Psoriasis Foundation. Abbott makes Humira, a biologic approved for several diseases, including moderate to severe psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. The campaign is called “Stop hiding and start living with psoriasis.”
Given how perfect her skin looks–although retouching of entertainers’ photos makes it impossible to know how they really look–it’s important to note that the way her skin looks does not reflect reality for many of the people Psoriasis Cure Now works with on a daily basis. Psoriasis will really have arrived when a famous person with visible psoriasis becomes outspoken about this noncontagious and painful disease.
In the meantime, thanks LeAnn for sharing your story, and congratulations on finding a treatment that works for you!
