Description and Comments

E6201 is a man-made analog of a compound that occurs naturally in a species of fungus. It inhibits the activity of Tumor Necrosis Factor alpha (TNF-alpha; the target of many anti-psoriasis biologicals) and other molecules that may play a role in inflammation. As of May 2010, a phase II study of E6201 in patients with plaque psoriasis was underway.
