Description and Comments

Paxceed is an alternative formulation of Taxol, a drug that is FDA approved for the treatment of cancer. Taxol fights cancer by interfering with cell division and the growth of new blood vessels in tumors. Because psoriasis plaques arise due to the overgrowth of skin cells and new blood vessels, the Taxol alternative, Paxceed, is being tested as a potential psoriasis treatment. Paxceed was originally developed as a treatment for multiple sclerosis (MS), but it was not effective against MS in a phase II clinical trial.
