Description and Comments

Rose Bengal is a stain that has been used for decades, in eye drop form, to detect damage to the eye. Recently, alternative formulations of Rose Bengal have been tested as treatments for psoriasis, eczema, and cancer. The Rose Bengal formulation developed by Provectus Pharmaceuticals for psoriasis and eczema (atopic dermatitis) is called Xantryl or PH-10. In 2010, the company reported favorable results from a small (30 patients), short (four-week) Phase Two trial in psoriasis.

There is no word yet on whether Provectus will advance to Phase Three trials for PH-10.
