Description and Comments
Targretin (Bexarotene) is a special type of retinoid called a rexinoid and is a close relative of the other retinoids
used to treat psoriasis: Tazorac (tazarotene) and Soriatane (acitretin). All three drugs are derivatives of Vitamin A. Targretin differs from the others in that it binds to a different protein inside cells. In a Phase II clinical trial, targretin combined with UVB therapy achieved better results than UVB therapy alone. Targretin has even helped some patients who used other retinoids without success.
