Piano rocker and singer-songwriter Kevin Burdick and friends will perform live at 5 Monkeys in Murray.
Chicago
Get outside for a cookout and other outdoor fun at North Aurora Island Park.
Washington, DC
Crooner Nik Everett will appear live at a special Brunch Party at Porter's near Dupont Circle.

People with psoriasis endure a lot, even aside from the physical pain. But by participating in Psoriasis Cure Now's Short Sleeve Day, you will be part of an innovative, three-pronged strategy to change that. Through Short Sleeve Day, we will:
- Raise money that will be used to educate opinion leaders about psoriasis--the folks who set the research budgets and write the news articles about psoriasis.
- Support each other as we learn to do what families hit by cancer, autism and other diseases have been doing now for years: GO PUBLIC AND SPEAK OUT--BEING OUR OWN ADVOCATES FOR ACCEPTANCE AND CHANGE.
- Educate the general public about psoriasis, since most of the 'stigma' surrounding psoriasis springs from ignorance of the disease.
On September 15, 2007, we are asking every person with psoriasis across the nation to go out into the world and engage the public about psoriasis. We are also asking every person who cares about someone with psoriasis to join us. Wear the official Short Sleeve Day T-shirt [**we can no longer guarantee t-shirt delivery before Short Sleeve Day**]. If you feel comfortable doing so (and your psoriasis is in family-friendly areas!), expose your psoriasis and invite others to ask you about your disease. This nationwide, collective action will empower us as we educate the public. It will also serve as inspiration to the many people with psoriasis whose psoriasis has them in hiding, socially isolated.
But we understand that many of us are not ready to be public about a disease we often keep private. That’s fine too. You can participate in many ways--like by asking your friends and family to make a contribution to the cause. Still others have clear skin right now, perhaps because they have found a treatment that works for them. They especially should participate, as for them, it truly is a celebration!
Join our nationwide "virtual" event, register for an event in a city already hosting one, go out by yourself or with friends and family, or request to run an event in your town. But whatever you do, PLEASE register to join us on September 15. (It's free.) Together, we will reduce the social pain of psoriasis as we increase research on the disease. And we'll have fun doing it!
