September 12-14, 2008: The 2nd Annual Psoriasis Cure Now Short Sleeve Days
Last year, hundreds of people from 32 states participated in Short Sleeve Day--educating the public about psoriasis while raising thousands of dollars for programs directed at increasing psoriasis research and improving education about the disease.
This year, the celebration will be bigger and better, and one day is not enough. So we will celebrate Short Sleeve Days, with goals of participants from all 50 states and public events in several cities. During Short Sleeve Days 2008, we hope you will wear the official Short Sleeve Days t-shirt, hand out the Short Sleeve Days Psoriasis Info Cards we'll provide you, and spread the word about the seriousness of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. We will also make it easy for those interested in doing so, to raise money from friends and family to support Psoriasis Cure Now's research and education advocacy programs. Registration is free!
Also this year we are having a National 'Virtual' Event for Children
All donations raised through this event will be specifically directed to programs advocating for children with psoriasis.
HELP US FILL THIS MAP WITH SHORT SLEEVE DAY PARTICIPANTS COAST TO COAST!
(Current status of Short Sleeve Days registrants as of July 23th. Blue drops are Short Sleeve Days participants, red push-pins are public events.)
In addition to our national events, we have volunteers in several cities running public events to celebrate Short Sleeve Days. Below are links to those events, which are still developing. (Let us know if you would like to host a public event in your town.)
(And no, you are not required to wear short sleeves. But we are all working for the day when everyone with psoriasis can wear short sleeves without giving it a second thought.)
